Our 24th of July Pioneer Day celebration was great. We spent the day in Cedar City, Utah. The first thing we did was the parade. We watched from the sidewalk on Main Street with Robin, Kathy, Michelle, Steven, and Grandpa as the parade of floats, bands, and dance teams went by. The kids liked grabbing the candy and frisbees that were thrown to them. They also threw poppers/snappers on the ground for fun. After the parade, we walked to the city park and visited. We also had the traditional hamburgers and hotdogs cooked there. We got popcorn and drinks/slushies too. The afternoon was spent visiting with family. For dinner we went to a chinese buffet. At night we drove to the high school parking lot to light off fireworks. It was raining, but that didn't stop us from having fun. The men and older boys had fun lighting them. The fireworks were great especially the ones that went into the air. It was the first year it was legal to light off those kind, so it made it especially exciting. We had a great day!!!
