Wednesday, August 4th
On this day, we got up early at the condo. After breakfast, Rod took the kids swimming at the pools while I stayed back and did laundry and repacked for the rest of our trip up to northern Utah. After swimming we packed up the car and drove to Alison's house to visit. We stayed about an hour there visiting and seeing their condo. We then did a few errands, had lunch, and drove to Provo, Utah. We stopped in Beaver for a break and quick visit with Andy & Jill. When we arrived in Provo, we drove to the mall and got some ties for Josh and Rod. Then we drove to my nephew Bobby's house where we dropped off the kids. The others met us there and dropped off their kids too. While the kids stayed there and had pizza and played, we went to dinner. It was a dinner for my Dad, Kathy, David, Gary, and I and our spouses. We went to a japanese place that does the cooking/cutting right in front of you as a show. We had soup, salad, rice, and our choice of meat. It was cool watching the cook make a volcanoe with onions and fire. He did tricks with an egg and the rice. The meal was very good. Toward the end, the cook flipped a shrimp toward each of us one at a time to catch in our mouths. A few of us came close, but no one got it in. For dessert we went to Village Inn for pie. It was a nice evening. We then picked up our kids and drove to Sandy to a Holiday Inn Express for the night. Grandpa, David, and Gary's families stayed there too. Kathy's family stayed at Bobby's house.
