Last January our family visited Tule Springs Ranch at Floyd Lamb Park as a merit badge requirement for Josh. We had never been there as a family before. One of the first things we noticed upon arrival were the peacocks wandering about throughout the park. They were beautiful and amazed the kids. Some of the kids picked up peacock feathers to take home. After watching the peacocks for awhile, we toured the old ranch and learned the history of the place. There were all sorts of farm animals too. Josh found the baby potbellied pigs to be cute and wanted to bring one home. Although they were for sale, with a dog and 4 guinea pigs already at our house, we didn't need another pet. After the tour, we found a picnic table near a pond to eat lunch. We had many ducks and geese that thought it was their lunchtime too. Scharlet was a bit scared and not at all impressed when the geese came right up to the table and bit her peanut butter and honey sandwich! The boys had to keep chasing the birds away while we ate. After eating, the kids all enjoyed throwing crumbs to the ducks and other birds in the pond. When our picnic was over, the kids played on the grass until time to go home. It was a fun family excursion!
